Position reporting to: NDS Product Test Manager

Overall Objective

To ensure as part of a team that each release is tested to highest standard within the time scales provided and to report any problems that may be found. The testing is centered around non-functional testing in which the tests coverage is based around large systems and live system scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Review Test Plans and Test Specifications, and Test Scripts to validate the expected system functionality
• Write and execute Test Cases and Test Scripts
• Raise fault reports when appropriate
• Write Test Reports
• Setup test lab
• Assist in maintenance of automation framework

Employee Specification

Essential Skills

• At least 1 years experience on black box, system test, non functional testing
• At least 1 years experience of testing backend systems specifically databases
• At least 1 years experience using one of the following:
• Experience of databases using external replication
• Experience in clustered environments or distributed systems
• Good knowledge of
• Testing Processes and methodologies
• Test automation
• Good scripting Knowledge (preferably in PERL or SHELL)
• User level UNIX skills
• Able to communicate well both written and verbally

• Ability to communicate with people clearly

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies
• Knowledge of LDAP, X500
• Performance testing on TCP/IP based applications
