SM150 - Solution Architect

Position located in: Apertio/Nokia Siemens Networks, Emersons Green, Bristol.
Position reporting to: Head of Solution Management

Overview:

Solution Management within the Subscriber Data Management (SDM) Business Line is responsible for the identification of new solution areas, and the management of indentified solutions through the NSN solution lifecycle. This requires working closely with customers to identify potential problems and scoping the associated solution; Building the necessary sales and technical collateral; working with cross functional teams to deliver the solution to the market place; Promoting the solution both internally and externally.

As a Solution Architect for SDM, you are the technical champion of the solution and ultimately responsible for the technical success of the solution in the market place.

To date, the SDM business line has 5 key solution areas:

  1. Subscriber Data management
  2. Subscriber intelligence
  3. Policy management
  4. Identity management
  5. Mobility management

Each of these solutions is at a different maturity level within the NSN solution lifecycle

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with Solution Manager – SDM & Identity, to define the technical architecture for this solution
  • Co-ordinate activities in conjunction with various BLs and sales
  • Develop a technical vision for the Subscriber Data Management solution & Identity solution
  • Work closely with SDM engineering and other BLs to ensure consistent technical architecture
  • Work closely with design partner customers to gain feedback on solution areas
  • Develop strong technical relationships with key design partner customers
  • Work closely with Customers and Sales to help close sales
  • Develop necessary technical solution collateral
  • Work closely with SDM partnering to support partners (internal and external)
  • Develop and maintain the Solution architecture

Skills & Experience Requirements

  • BS in engineering, computer science, or appropriate related experience required.
  • 10+ years industry experience related to telecommunications networks.
  • Specific detailed experience required in Subscriber Data Management and Identity Management
  • Further direct experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Mobile core network architecture, design and/or roll out. Including components such as MSCs, HSS/HLRs, VLRs, CAMEL SCPs.
    • Prepaid systems for IN networks
    • GSM network architecture
    • ANSI/CDMA network architecture
    • Software architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of telecommunications based products and services
    • Participating in telecommunications standards bodies or industry forum groups
  • Experience with strategic analysis and planning with financial acumen; able to recognize implications of business and technical decisions
  • Team worker; able to lead and influence others to achieve objectives
  • Experience and comfort giving presentations to customers and large organizations
